Syrian government airstrikes bombarded Aleppo late Thursday and into Friday as Islamist rebel groups launched a major offensive to seize full control of the city.
Pentagon officials said the militant, Tarik bin Tahar al-Awni al-Harzi, had been transporting and supplying weapons for Daesh, as well has helping fighters enter Syria from Turkey.  He was killed June 16 near Syria's border with Iraq.  (AFP/File)
