ADIB wins 2010 WIBC award for 'Institutional Excellence'
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), a top-tier Islamic financial services group, today announced that it had won the award for Institutional Excellence at the 2010 World Islamic Banking Conference (WIBC).
The award was presented to Tirad Mahmoud, CEO, ADIB by HE Rasheed Al Maraj, Governor, Central Bank of Bahrain at the 17th World Islamic Banking Conference (WIBC) held in the Kingdom of Bahrain from 22nd - 24th of November 2010.
Receiving the award, Tirad Mahmoud said: "This is an important addition to the bank's accolades this year. The WIBC is one of the most prestigious Islamic finance conferences and to win the Institutional Excellence award is a great honour. This comes five months after being named "Best Islamic Bank" in the Middle East at the Banker Middle East Industry Awards and after being recognized as the most improved bank in service quality by Ethos Consulting."
Based on select criteria assessed by the WIBC Awards Committee, the award for Institutional Excellence in 2010 was presented to ADIB in recognition of excellence in key performance criteria. These included continuation of robust performance notwithstanding the turbulence in the international financial markets and leadership and overall strategic direction of its Islamic banking and finance business.
Earlier this year, ADIB also won the HRD award from Emirates Institute of Banking & Financial Studies and the Best Savings Account award at the Banker Middle East Product Awards 2010.
