iOS vs Android: does “open” really always win?
360East asks if Apple is having its ‘1990’ moment, suggesting that Google’s ‘Andriod’ may overtake the Iphone and other offerings simply because of the range of devices it’s being used on: according to the post Google is switching on 30,000 new devices per day!
Just as Microsoft’s operating system was licensed to as PC’s as possible, while Apple refused to license its probably superior OS, the blog ponders whether the same pattern is happening with phones? It then goes on to debate whether ‘open’ systems are always the best, or whether the ‘open vs closed debate’ has moved on. The piece quotes Steve Jobs, saying ‘people just want a phone that works’.

Where are you from?
IHATH writes a poem about belonging everywhere and nowhere, and always telling people she comes from a different country, until she concludes:
I do enjoy playing these pranks
They are terribly fun
But what I secretly long for
Is to one day arrive in place where
Nobody asks me:
“Hey! You! Where are you from?”
Not even once
I do enjoy playing these pranks
They are terribly fun
But what I secretly long for
Is to one day arrive in place where
Nobody asks me:
“Hey! You! Where are you from?”
Not even once
