Arresting elderly Mothers? Israel fails to respect mothers, contrary to Jewish stereotype

A religious culture that adulates the mother figure, Judaism is known in popular culture for its strong Jewish Mother, founded on theological precepts that follow the maternal bloodline. The Israeli state unlike regional neighbours grants citizenship through the maternal line.
Israel detains mother of senior Hamas official
Arresting an infirm aged mother should go against everything Israel holds dear - in a culture that reveres motherhood, as popular culture reminds us of the Jewish mother myth. Popular culture propagates a notion that has roots in the motherhood figure in Judaism being the bestower of identity- religion, nationality.
"Israeli forces arrested Monday morning the mother of senior Hamas official Saleh al-Arouri after raiding her home in Aroura village near Ramallah."

Star Academy 8: The Season Of Gossip
Would gossip tempt you into the trap of reality TV?
"I am not watching Star Academy 8 and nor do I want to. I watch the occasional prime on a Friday night but that’s pretty much it. The show is now in its eighth season and has been dragged for far too long. Many of the winners have gone into irrelevance, let alone some of the contestants. The show has become a vehicle for those running it to make too much money out of people “voting” and TV ads that bring in millions."

Beautiful prose poem about the Third Intifada by Daniel Drennan
" "Let them riot in Gaza!" you said, and I saw you, and I saw you seeing me, and in that held gaze was a promise, and in my pause was a covenant, and I wrote those words down to forever remind me, I noted down your threat which is hereby reciprocated with interest accrued a hundred-thousand-fold."

Psychology of occupation and the potential of religious leaders to make a difference
Religion leading the way has been the source of problems all along, so why should now be any different, contends a peace-seeking psychologist by her rhetorical enquiry. Trying to reconcile religion (which protects the poor and weak) with occupation which oppresses, and so defiles the moral sanctity of religion, can prove a thankless task...Then again religious crusades have always been the stuff of history.
"Dialogue between religious leaders as a source for change?
“Is there any justification for an occupation of a land in any religion? How is occupation defined religiously in the first place and where lies the responsibility of religious leaders in a political situation, which clearly involves oppression of a less powerful people? What can we do?” "
