Wyndham Hotel Group, the world’s largest hotel company based on number of hotels and one of three business units of Wyndham Worldwide, today announced that two of its Qatari hotels, the Ramada Encore Doha and the Wyndham Grand Regency Doha, have been honored with leading industry awards, placing the hotels among the very best in the country and the greater Middle East.
Among the honors bestowed, the Ramada Encore Doha hotel was named Best Economy Mid Market Hotel at the Arabian Hotels Investment Conference in Dubai, while the recently opened Wyndham Grand Regency Doha received the accolade of Qatar’s Leading Hotel at the World Travel Awards, also held in Dubai.
Both hotels offer business and leisure guests alike a unique experience in the Qatari capital, a rapidly growing destination for commerce and leisure.
“The Ramada Encore Doha is a modern and stylish hotel primarily serving the midscale market. Being very clear on our visitor profile means we are able to offer outstanding quality and value to our guests, and we continue to strive to exceed their expectations,” said Saqib Anwar, general manager of the Ramada Encore Doha. “As a newly opened hotel, it is a fantastic recognition to win this award and is testimony to the Ramada brand’s growing popularity in the region.”
Situated in the Al-Asmakh area of Doha, just four kilometres from Doha International Airport, the Ramada Encore Doha offers practical amenities such as complimentary Internet access throughout the hotel, meeting facilities and a 24 hour business centre as well as smart, contemporary guest rooms and exciting cuisine. The hotel opened in December 2010 as the first Ramada Encore property in the Middle East.
The Wyndham Grand Regency Doha, which became the first Wyndham Grand property in the Middle East when it joined the Wyndham Hotels and Resorts portfolio in April, is a luxury, full-service hotel centrally located in the Al Sadd area of the city. The hotel offers guests five-star amenities and services including 246 opulent guest rooms, three restaurants, Angsana Spa, gym and swimming pool.
“It is an honor to win this prestigious award and it shows our efforts haven’t gone unnoticed,” said Ayman Lofty, general manager of the Wyndham Grand Regency Doha. “The Wyndham Grand designation is synonymous with luxury and quality. Our commitment to offering an exceptional guest experience at every visit coupled with the strength of the Wyndham brand has enabled us to make an impact on the Doha hotel scene in the short time since we opened earlier this year.”
Located near both the Exhibition Centre and Corniche waterfront promenade, the hotel offers 36 suites and penthouses, all featuring high-speed Internet access, a safe and complimentary mineral water, as well as an additional bed, sitting room and complimentary breakfast. The Al Asmakh Royal Suite, which commands impressive views across the city, boasts a bedroom, living room, dining-board room accommodating up to 10 people, two televisions and two bathrooms, each with separate shower and Jacuzzi. In addition the hotel provides extensive, flexible meeting and event space including the 600-square-metre Al Qasr Ballroom which can host up to 900 guests at a cocktail party or 650 theatre-style.
The Arabian Hotel Investment Conference (AHIC) brings together more than 600 industry leaders from more than 40 countries, including many of the most influential people in the Middle East’s hotel investment community.
The World Travel Awards, hailed as “the Oscars of the Travel Industry,” is acknowledged across the globe as the ultimate travel accolade and celebrates those brands that are pushing the boundaries of industry excellence.
