During Ramadan: Trading volume at Egyptian bourse down

The trading volume of the Egyptian Stock Exchange during the month of Ramadan reached 14.6 billion Egyptian pounds, or about US$2.5 billion. By this, the Egyptian bourse was ranked second among Arab markets in terms of volume after Saudi Arabia, who registered US$8.08 billion during this month.
The Egyptian stock exchange said in its report, that during the month of Ramadan the trading volume has fallen by 44% compared with the previous 32 days when the volume amounted to 25.8 billion Egyptian pounds and compared to $23.3 billion pounds in Ramadan last year.
The report pointed out that the main index "EGX30" rose by 0.6% to record 6499.63 points while it posted an increase of 7.2% in the month of Ramadan last year.
