From the makers of the region’s best-selling cheddar cheese comes yet another unbelievable opportunity for cooking enthusiasts to achieve stardom and become a celebrated chef! Called ‘Star Chef’, the competition is designed to recognize cooking lovers for their culinary talents and to reward them with their very own cooking show on the one and only food channel in the Arab world, Fatafeat! Between now and 1st October 2011, all those interested in winning this coveted title of Star Chef are invited to submit their entries via video format to Fatafeat on www.fatafeat.com.
Come October, the top 10 video entries will be short-listed and the battle for the Star Chef title will commence with weekly elimination cooking challenges. These episodes will be screened on Fatafeat TV over a seven-week period between 15th November 2011 and 15th January 2012. On the final episode, which will be aired in January 2012, audiences from all across the region will tune in to vote for their favourite contestant, who will then be crowned with the Star Chef title and receive a contract to host their very own cooking show on Fatafeat TV in 2012.
“The Star Chef competition sponsored by Kraft Cheddar Cheese is an exciting opportunity for cooking enthusiasts to truly earn recognition for their culinary skills. By rewarding them with their very own cooking show, we are bringing fresh talent to the culinary world”, said Jayachandran Balachandran, Marketing Director Kraft Foods, GCC & New Markets MENA. “Kraft Cheddar is looking for that special someone who can truly wow audiences with their passion for cooking. It is not just about recipe innovation but just as equally about his or her ability to charm audiences with their enigmatic personalities on screen. We would therefore urge all participants to put a lot of thought and character into their videos, and to truly give it their own personal touch. This will increase the chances of their entries being short-listed for the final competition where they will compete to win their very own cooking show on Fatafeat TV”, added Balachandran.
Kraft Cheddar Cheese has pioneered many exciting culinary opportunities for consumers across the GCC. Just recently, a Saudi woman was able to realize her life-long dream of becoming a celebrated culinary author and Chef when Kraft Cheddar Cheese, the leading cheddar cheese brand in the GCC, supported her in the production of her very own cook book and offered her a contract to star in her own cooking show on Saudi TV. 26-year old Ohood Sohail, who is a nutritionist by qualification and a lecturer at a cooking academy in Jeddah, has long been a fan of the brand. Her book, called Delightful Recipes with Ohood’s Touch, contains 40 nutritious and tasty recipes from salads, starters, soups to main courses and desserts, all containing the ‘Al Aslee’ and distinctive taste of the popular cheddar cheese.
