Bloggers Share Their Christmas Spirit

Leaving political and social commentary aside, bloggers take the time to show their own personal appreciation for the Christmas holidays.
In Lebanon, The “Superficial Glitter” of Christmas is Precisely the Cause for Celebration
Indeed, the clerics and the religious leaders will have their say. But in the end, people find their own direction. According to Mustapha from Lebanon, it is the "superficial glitter" of Christmas, which clerics are speaking out against, that is combining and drawing people of different faiths to the Christian holiday.
"Because in Lebanon, the superficial glitter is precisely the part of Christmas that unifies the people and creates peace and love between Christians and their neighbors. Isn’t that what Christianity is supposed to be all about?"

Memories From Lebanese Christmases
Elie from Lebanon remembers his first Christmas as a white Christmas filled with caroling and family. In spite of the commercialization of the holiday, the spirit of Christmas can still exist in an act of kindness, an appreciative smile or a simple family dinner.
"And on this Christmas, my heart goes out to all the people in the world who are suffering because of their beliefs, especially the Christians of Egypt and Iraq. May they find the peace they need with the smiles they have on Christmas day."

White vs. Colored
Racism finds a new form for this Kuwait-based blogger. Who knew that just wearing a light-colored dishdasha in the winter season could ruffle so many feathers?
"Kuwaiti men always wait for someone to have the initiative to do anything before everyone else does it. If you are wearing a a dishdasha right now (and it’s a winter one I know), when are switching back to a white one? When it’s warm? or When it’s warm and people around you started to switch?"
