US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton declared religious freedom in Egypt to be ‘quite tenuous’ following the releaseof the 2011 International Religious Freedom Report. Despite chronicling several instances of sectarian violence against Coptic Christians, their community finds itself increasingly divided over its longstanding support for America.

The Quota for Women is a Very Lebanese Idea
The Lebanese cabinet was busy discussing reforms to the electoral law yesterday. For this we should credit the heroic efforts of the civil campaign for electoral reforms which has been diligently pushing this important issue. The discussions will resume later and the next item on their list will be the “quota for women”, i.e. the idea that a minimum percentage of Lebanese MPs should be comprised of women. I like this idea; I’m glad that it is picking up in the Arab world and I hope it makes it in Lebanon.

For the benefit of our English readers: This video talks about a Saudi man who can't figure out how to serve coffee to his guests, and his father isn't happy with him. So he joins a Manhood Academy to learn to be a man. The school takes him through different challenges till he finally can figure out learns how to be a man.... But he didn't learn who enters the cafe first, and it should be him according to the Arabian traditions, because he was on the 'right' side.
