Egyptian president Mahmoud Morsi
Happy Eid Prayer 2012
Morsi prayed publicly in Amr Ibn El As mosque, Cairo’s oldest and biggest mosques in a scene that we have missed for decades. Nasser and Sadat used to pray with the public in various mosques across Cairo and in the governorates unlike Mubarak who used to pray in army mosques at back row.

Back in Beirut
The plan was to write another couple of blog entries about Cairo, but the photographs that would have amplified the story are being held hostage on my computer that won’t let me log on any more. Ursula's painting from Kiki's delivery service. It was painted by the students at a special school for challenged children. Miyazaki added Kiki's face and Oga, one of the art staff members, also did some touch-ups. It is titled "The Ship Flying over the Rainbow".
