Police Probes in Beirut: Gay Rape?

Not that I care if he’s gay or not, but it doesn’t add up as the TV show he did back in May caused the arrest of over 30 people allegedly gay in a gay porn cinema in Beirut last week (Plaza Cinema).

I wouldn’t be surprised if Joe Maalouf really said Hitler is his personal idol and “sometimes a person like him is ‘needed’ in order to ‘reduce the numbers”. Report released by GayStarNews update on the story. He’s obviously a madman.

Gay or not gay, it is irrelevant. Joe Maalouf (that crappy crappy a la Malek Maktabi journalist) is a an opportunist homophobe.

As reported on Blog Baladi, Joe Maalouf’s phone call to the police, led to the arrest of over 30 men for allegedly “being gay” in Plaza Cinema in Beirut last week.

As the city of Aleppo fell under siege to the Syrian army last weekend, 200 miles to the south the Lebanese mukhabarat/secret service raided a cinema with a reputation for showing gay pornography. On Saturday, July 28th, 36 men were arrested for being what local television called “shazoz” (perverts) and carted off to Maghfar Hbeish, a jail reserved for those in drug- and prostitution-related arrests.

I love free speech. In fact, my insistance on saying things like they are with no regards to political correctness or sanctities has gotten me a fair share of hate mail if not outright death threats at times. That’s why, some of you might be surprised that I’m actually not a fan of Joe Maalouf, but think he is a wretched, opportunistic hypocrite who probably pulled some strings to get a show on MTV.
