One million dollars to make just one law in Lebanon

An interesting scorecard reveals what Lebanese MPs have achieved in 2011. The bottom line is revealing: 128 MPs wrote 19 laws in the entire year, resulting in the horrible efficiency of 0.15 law/MP/year .

I figured I’ll take this another step and decided to dig up how much each law cost the Lebanese tax payers in 2011. First, a word of warning: This is a very imprecise exercise, so please economics and statistics experts don’t expect super exact figures to come out of it. We’re just aiming for the ball-park.

I’m not going to make any comment about this, as it speaks for itself, except for one where I quote a friend who has been to Palestine for the first time this year, she said:

“Ramallah is nice. Not the most beautiful city in the world, although when you’re in it you feel that it is. But Jerusalem is a different story. Jerusalem IS the most beautiful city in the world”

Hide and seek, which is a game between kids, who hide and seek, turned out for me to be a game of crying and pretending.

I still remember each single time where an adult has used my body to satisfy their sexual needs, without even thinking of how I would feel, like if I were a doll. That simple game I found joy within turned into a horror movie I had to live.
