A Muslim woman tries the Niqab for a day, " I don’t think I’ve ever felt less special. "
A Day in the Niqab in the Midst of Cairo
An Egyptian Muslim woman tried on the niqab for a day and her experience was definitely a mixed bag of emotions.
"The day started as any other. It was a Friday, and I headed down to Tahrir Square in Cairo to participate in the protest to “Save the Revolution”. I bumped into my friend from university, Amina Ismail, there who told me she was going to dress in Niqab and attend a Salafi conference and asked if I wanted to join.
I ended up having one of the most interesting days of my life."

How Jordanian Parliament Lost Its Mind And Why Its Time To Dissolve It
The infamous Black Iris waxes eloquent on the government in Jordan in 2012:
"The state of Jordanian parliament today reminds me of the Dead Sea. It’s the lowest point on Earth, it’s a body of water where nothing can survive, and it continues to recede every year causing an increasingly dire situation.
The events in parliament that have transpired in the past few days and weeks have come to demonstrate the degree to which our parliament has hit rock bottom."

A response to Mona el Tahawy
This blogger is a self described ' post-colonial, post-capitalist, post-modern, post-feminist! Her take on a fellow Arab feminist is not too complimentary:
"Mona reveals her liberal, western-oriented worldview very clearly in this article. And I find it extremely insulting to the many amazing Arab and Middle Eastern feminists who have worked tirelessly in order to show how complicated Arab patriarchy is, and how the solutions, too, are complicated. "
