The Olive Revolution Knocks on Jerusalem's Gates

Oliver trees in Palestine are treasured by residents in the agricultural sector for their economic value, as well as by
others for their historical significance, their grandiose appearance and cultural worth to a besieged heritage.

5 things I’ve learned at the TEDxBeirut 3rd Salon
"I’m usually one to hate inspirational speeches, I mean what a load of crap! All words and no actions, all theories and no applications. But with the TEDTalks it’s different, having real people, from all walks of life, sharing their experiences is crapless inspiration. So I went yesterday to the TEDxBeirut 3rd salon and here are a couple of things that I've learned about myself and the world:"

The 21st century thinker
What, do you mean alone without phones, blackberries, iPads, or iPods? Sound daunting?

Yet another Guinness world record: Longest bar in Jounieh
Lebanon's competitive streak rears its feisty head again. Last time, humous, tabboulehs and something else larger than life or better or faster that doesn't come to mind just now.
This time, following Ramadan in multi-confessional Lebanon, Lebanon (specifically Jounieh, that lovely village suburb alongside the capital) wants to host the world's longest bar! How will Dubai feel to have its strengths at largest, tallest challenged or stolen this way!
The Lebanese even admit they're balmy malady- maybe that's what confessionalism is really about: "This madness doesn’t seem like ending anytime soon, now we’re all set to break the Guinness record for the world’s longest bar."

Back in Beirut & Business
Another Lebanon returnee is gushing to announce his return to business and our bloggosphere:
"This one is for the category of WTF. Taken on the Corniche.
Dear Arabic boy (23),
Uhhhhhh, no. I don’t think so. Although I am ‘foreign people’ I don’t think I will call you. A picture might have helped your case.
I’m back in Beirut, and back in business, and busier than ever. It's good to be back. "
