Parsi 'Farrokh' Freddie Mercury's 65th tribute present from Google, a Doodle!

"The latest Google Doodle, which went live for some on September 4, pays tribute to Freddie Mercury, who would have celebrated his 65th birthday on September 5."

Freddie saw himself as Persian due to his Parsi roots, according to his family, and he never talked about his past because he was the kind of person who always looked to the future.

"As an Indian, I always felt a certain horrified fascination at watching a Parsi boy prance around on stage looking like a gay weightlifter in a Cusrow Baug gymnasium."

Parsis and of Zoroastrianism? Not Persian exactly but of greater Persia in the sub-continent.
