"Sawt" Makes Arab Indie Waves

If you thought that indie music was just a western concept, think again. There are several burgeoning indie bands from all over the Arab world. Although they have been really difficult to spot, Beshr Kayali has come up with a new web app, Sawt, which streams indie music from all over the Arab world.

Even though it only works on Chrome and Safari, this little app is expanding.

"Aren't you afraid of being arrested," Mustapha had asked Razan Ghazzawi. The detained blogger didn't think her outspoken blog had hit the Syrian authorities' radar, but recent events show otherwise.

"The Syrian Dream" Facebook page have made a video of 21 things a person can do to help the Syrian revolution. Ali lists them down and translates from Arabic to English.
