The Avengers Crave Shawarma

If, like me, you waited through the complete credits at The Avengers this weekend you were probably also like me, left with two burning questions: Wait, Alexis Denisof was in this movie? And what the heck is shawarma?

I have road rage. I openly admit to this. My road rage only ever appears when I’m driving in Cairo, though. And I’ve driven in many places in the world.

I saw her during a protest in support of Hana’ Ash-Shalabi. She was sitting, surrounded by protesters, too weak to stand, and holding a poster of Hana’. People around her tried to convince her to go home and eat or at least drink something. She looked at us and shook her head: ‘This is the least I can do. Hana’ is on hunger strike in an Israeli dungeon. She is on hunger strike for justice and for her dignity, for the dignity of all of us.

Al Ahram newspaper has just reported on its official website that the administrative court in Qalubiya has issued a court ruling to suspend the Supreme presidential elections committee decision to hold the presidential elections next May 23rd and 24th!!
