Syrian children tortured and killed like dogs

According to a Save the Children representative in Syria, "Almost every child we've spoken to has seen family members killed," the report, which is the product of face-to-face interviews with Syrians in bordering countries, states. "

They have seen and experienced things that no child should ever see, and many are deeply traumatised as a result...The acts described are consistent, recurring and appalling."

This post is about the grandchildren of the street – a new generation that are more marginalised than the children they are born to.

Not fitting the conventional categories of “orphan”, they are often sold, killed, used for begging or prostituted – all of which we have documented cases. If they are very lucky, then they are left in the shelter that has learnt to adapt to the needs of street children through trial and error for lack of an example to follow.

There are messy points on the world map, but for the most part, the nation-state system has worked very well.

The messiest point, unfortunately, is Israel.
