Syria's Situation: Where Does it Go From Here?

The Syrian flag hangs hight, but is still surrounded by unrest- on- and offline.
Syria at a Standstill?
While the regime tries to put a chokehold on the Internet situation in Syria, this blogger laments, where is this all going? It seems that Syria is not going in one direction or the other. The world can't interfere, the regime won't stop killing people and the resistance will continue powering through. It seems that all that the world can do is twiddle its thumbs and wait, but at what expense?
"I know it sounds a bit idealistic and naive, but the truth is that Syrians allowed themselves to be terrorised by Assad's regime for so long, and in the past eleven months they have broken down this fear and have performed the previously unthinkable."

Syrian blogger Razan Ghazzawi released, but banned from leaving the country
As reported previously, Razan Ghazzawi was arrested a few days ago, again. Now, she has been released once more along with other female detainees. Yet, she is not allowed to leave the country- for now. Watch this space.
"Arrested during a raid on the Syrian Centre for Media and Freedom of Expression (SCMFE), Razan along with the rest of her female colleagues are said to have been released, but there is no news of the remaining detainees."

“Friends of Syria” versus “Friends of Assad”
The “Friends of Syria” coalition can hold all the conferences it wants. But according to this Middle East based blogger, if this coalition is to be a true 'friend' to Syria, it needs to spin words into action.
"The 'Friends of the Syrian People' need to pass resolutions and take practical steps to support and arm the Syrian opposition, to set up secure humanitarian corridors, to lobby Security Council members for ending the Assad era and to prod the International Criminal Court to track down those guilty of crimes against humanity in Syria."

Syria: Desperate attempts by regime on twitter
Let the mud-slinging begin!
Trolling is nothing new in the Internet. In fact, it is probably one of the most ongoing activities on the net. Yet, it is a different story when Syrian pro-regime individuals target revolution-supporting bloggers. Fair enough if you disagree with their opinions, but hurling personal insults and spreading rumors is hardly going to help the regime's cause.
"Through this blog post i want to show you the real face of the syrian regime. A face that is trying VERY hard to fight people who are supporting the revolution. And it is a pain going through those tweets that insult more then discussing politely."
