Bombardier showcases new transportation solutions at UITP
Bombardier Transportation will showcase two of its most recent and major innovations in the field of urban mobility - the BOMBARDIER PrimoveCity e-mobility solution and the BOMBARDIER INNOVIA Monorail 300 system - at the 59th World Congress and Exhibition of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) in Dubai, April 11-14, 2011.
Under the theme “The Future of Urban Transportation”, Bombardier will explain how its PrimoveCity contactless power transfer solution addresses the current range and recharging constraints of all types of electric vehicles, such as trams, buses and cars. In addition, Bombardier will show how the INNOVIA Monorail 300 system can offer medium to high transport capacities, with cost-effective, short time construction and very low use of premium inner city space.
The high-capacity BOMBARDIER MOVIA metro, the highly energy-efficient BOMBARDIER FLEXITY 2 light rail vehicles and the pioneering BOMBARDIER CITYFLO 650 communication-based train control system will also be exhibited.
“We are very proud to once again be demonstrating our technological leadership and offering solutions that redefine the future of urban transportation at the UITP World Congress” said André Navarri, President and COO, Bombardier Transportation, on the opening day of the event.
“Population increase, congestion and pollution are continually growing concerns for many urban centres. Today, no one doubts that urban mobility needs to be emission-free, highly efficient, easy to implement and occupy the least possible urban land space;” Navarri added. “Bombardier’s PrimoveCity and INNOVIA 300 system technologies suit all these criteria and are perfect answers to vital mobility needs. In addition, we are also showcasing many other innovative technologies here in Dubai”.
He concluded: “Dubai is an ideal place to showcase Mass Transit innovations. The entire Middle East is a shining example of a region where urban transport infrastructure is being focused on with great foresight and environmental planning. We are very proud to be a part of that development, with our INNOVIA Monorail 300 system being built in the prestigious King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh. We look forward to partnering with the transport authorities in the region to develop more such sustainable transport projects.”
