53,000 tons of Egyptian cotton exported this season
Egyptian cotton exporters have shipped 53,000 tons of cotton so far this season, according to the head of the Egyptian Cotton Authority, Sayyed Arafat. The Giza-70 cotton variety constituted 30 percent of the total export contracts.
Local sources estimate the Egyptian cotton output at 5.5 million kentars by the end of the present season, compared with 4.2 million kentars last season. Egypt exports large volumes of cotton to Turkey and Europe. — (menareport.com)
