adidas Searches for UAE Football Spark
adidas has launched a campaign searching for the UAE football ‘Spark’. The campaign calls on all football teams in the UAE to participate in the competition by nominating the player ‘Every Team Needs’, a player that is their team’s most skilful game changer, someone pivotal to his team’s performance such as Argentine star striker Lionel Messi.
Up for grabs is a star prize worthy of any topflight footballer – a pair of category 1 tickets to the FIFA Club World Cup 2009 Finals and an overnight stay at the Emirates Palace Hotel, Abu Dhabi. In addition, ‘the Spark’ will win adidas sports kit worth AED 2,500 plus a AED 10,000 shopping trip for his nominating team, to equip them in the latest adidas kit including the new F50i football boots.
The free to enter competition is open to all football teams, from amateur and professional clubs, to university, school or company teams. The nominating team records a video footage of the ‘Spark’ completing the ‘adidas Crossbar Challenge’ – deliberately hitting the goal’s crossbar from outside the goal area.
Entries are submitted via www.facebook.com/adidasFootballArabia, where entrants can find demonstrations of both challenges being completed by UAE football team Al-Jazira.

The ‘adidas F50i Spark Challenge’ competition is running online from November 15th – December 7th. . In addition to the star prizes the first 50 entrants will also receive an adidas UEFA Champions League official match ball, FINALE 9. A winner will be selected by adidas and will be notified by email or telephone by the December 8th 2009.

Lionel Messi, one of the best football players of his generation, is participating with his team Barcelona FC at the FIFA Club World Cup 2009. Renowned for his skill and speed with the football, Messi and adidas recently teamed up to launch the new adidas F50i football boot. Made of pioneering technologies and customisable to different playing conditions, the new adidas F50i will be worn by Messi in all his club and international matches.
The 2009 FIFA Club World Cup will be the 6th edition of the tournament. The final game will be played at the 49,500 capacity Sheikh Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi on 19th December 2009.
