Bahrain: Owners to reject new offer
Owners are set to reject a new offer to compensate them for land needed for a BD98 million new town south of Salmabad. They have already rejected an offered of BD4 per square foot by the Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs Ministry BD4 per foot, claiming the land is worth BD13 per sq ft.
According to the GDN, the Bahraini Works and Housing Ministry started work on the project on August 1, despite landowners' refusal to sell to the government in the first place.
Bahrain's Municipalities and Agriculture Affairs Minister Ali Saleh Al Saleh has been instructed by King Hamad to revaluate the plots after hearing about the landowners' complaints.
