Bahrain: Stable and animal farms to be removed for housing project
Scores of Bahraini stable and animal farm owners from the northern area on Monday demonstrated outside the Northern Governorate against the move to relocate their facilities in Shakhoora.
They demanded an extension to the notice issued to them by the Northern Municipal Council two months ago to remove their stables in Shakhoora and make way for the upcoming housing project in the areas, the media coordinator at the governorate, Saeed Mohammed, said, according to Bahrain Tribune.
The officials affirmed the decision to shift them was part of a planning strategy in terms with housing projects which will be launched soon in the areas.
“The huge plot of land on which the stables are located is reserved by the Ministry of Works and Housing for its housing projects," it was said.
