Construction of 1st B.O.T. energy station in Saudi Arabia
Major progress has been cited in the ongoing negotiations between Saudi Petrochemicals Company (SADAF), and the Saudi Al-Zamil Group, both expected to build the first energy generation station in Saudi Arabia based on the “B.O.T” system.
According to Al-Sharq Al-Awsat daily, Al-Zamil Group is expected to construct the station for SADAF in the third quarter of 2001 in cooperation with the American C.M.S Energy Company. The new project, costing Saudi Riyal (SR) 500-650 million ($133-$173 million), is projected to produce approximately 230 megawatts of electrical power. –(MENA Report)
