Credit card use in Lebanon on the rise
Credit card use in Lebanon increase significantly since 1998, with the amount of cards distributed rising from 185,000 to 408,000 in 2001, confirmed a published bank statement on the use of credit in the nation.
The total of purchases charged to credit cards by residents and non-residents in Lebanon in 2001 reached $935 million compared to $285 million in 1998.
