Dell™ expands product portfolio at Gitex and Gitex Computer Shopper
Following on the grand success of last year, Dell will present its family of new generation products at Gitex and Gitex Computer Shopper, underlining its presence in the region’s business with a comprehensive range of devices for home, small business and large enterprise users.
“Reinforcing the importance of the fast growing IT market in the Middle East, Dell™ through a long standing alliance with its strategic partners will expand business potential in the region,” explained Michael Collins, General Manager, Dell Middle East. “We have a strong offering of new products available immediately, ranging from SoHo products to enterprise applications and power solutions.”
Available at Gitex Computer Shopper will be Dell’s notebook computers with the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo mobile processors on all XPS™ mobile gaming systems (XPS M2010, M1210 & M1710) and Dell Precision™ mobile workstations (Precision M90 & M65), as well as select Inspiron™ (Inspiron 640M, 6400 & 9400)and Latitude™ (latitude D520, D620 & D820) notebooks. The new refreshed Optiplex products will also be available.
Gamers in the Middle East can now run the most intensive games and 3D applications with the availability of the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo and Extreme processors on the Dell XPS™ 700 desktop PC. The new processors have up to 40 percent greater performance than the current Pentium® D processors but use 40 percent less power.
“Dell is committed to offering its customers the latest technology at the best value and quality,” Collins said. “The applications for which customers are using their PCs are becoming more demanding, requiring such things as more memory and faster processing speeds. As such, we are continuously updating and expanding our comprehensive product offering to meet our customers needs.
Also on display will be Dell’s newly expanded portfolio of enterprise solutions, including PowerEdge™ servers, PowerConnect™ switches, PowerVault™ and Dell | EMC storage systems and all new colour and inkjet multifunction printers along with a host of additional solutions and peripherals.
The Dell ninth-generation PowerEdge™ 1950, 2900 and 2950 servers and Dell PowerEdge 1955 blade server dramatically boost performance. For example, the new Dell PowerEdge servers powered by Intel Xeon 5100 series processors can deliver up to a 152 percent performance increase over the previous generation 2U Dell PowerEdge server. Dell has enhanced its quad-socket servers with performance-boosting, power-saving 64-bit dual-core Intel® Xeon™ 7100 sequence processors and system management software to simplify data centre operations. Dell PowerEdge 6800 and PowerEdge 6850 servers featuring the new processors can deliver a performance increase of up to 123 percent while consuming up to 20 percent less power.
As in previous years, Dell will participate in the annual Gitex main hall show through its UAE partners, Emirates Computers (Hall 4, stand C41) and Key Information Technology (Hall 3, stand 305). Dell will also have a visibly stronger presence than in previous years at Computer Shopper where its products will be available to the public. On offer to Computer Shopper visitors will be Dell’s desktops, notebooks along with its range of printers and other peripherals.
