Halfway around the world for 27 dollars?! From Dubai, anything is possible this holiday season
UAE-based Filipinos have more reasons to celebrate this Christmas season, with airline Cebu Pacific launching on Saturday cut-price flights from Dubai to Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
“The seat sale is our way of encouraging guests to book in advance, so they can get the best travel deals. The ongoing seat sale is for travel in the first quarter of 2014,” Alex Reyes, general manager of the carrier‘s long-haul division told Al Arabiya News.
In addition to their Dubai promotion, Cebu Pacific is also offering discounted air ticket fares for other destinations such as Bangkok, Phuket, Hong Kong, and Guangzhou.
“[Cebu Pacific] offers its trademark year-round lowest fares and seat sales to celebrate holidays or special occasions are also offered,” added Reyes.
The seat sale promotion will last till Dec. 18, with tickets bought during this period valid from Jan. 15 till the end of April next year.
“When I heard about the promo from Cebu Pacific, I immediately thought about my vacation next year. I was planning [to travel] by [the] latter part of next year [but] since there is a promo, better to go first quarter of the year,” Albie Alipaspas, a Filipino expat told Al Arabiya News.
Cebu Pacific started flights to Dubai in October.
“What we found [out] is that the moment we make low fares available, tourism numbers naturally increase,” the manager said.
“We hope that through our direct Dubai-Manila flights, they can spend longer quality time with their loved ones in the Philippines, and their families can visit them in the UAE as well,” he added.
