Get your wallet ready! Dubai's 19th Shopping Festival starts Thursday

The 19th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) will open on Thursday in grand style with a series of exciting events and activities aimed at giving residents and visitors a dream start to the entertainment and shopping extravaganza.
The internationally renowned event is being held across participating locations in Dubai and concludes after 32 days on February 2.
Shoppers will have the opportunity to win prizes worth half a million dirhams ($136,000) on the opening day in line with the festival theme “Shop at Your Best” at the DSF Lucky Shopper hosted by Sama Dubai TV at various shopping malls along with competitions by local radio stations.
Shopaholics can also sprint their way to the malls to cherry pick the best of the “Shop At Your Best” bargains that await them at several outlets and shopping centers throughout the city.
The Carpet & Arts Oasis will offer a lucky visitor a beautiful silk carpet as the prize in a raffle draw that will be held on the opening day.
Families and tourists can get an indication of things to come during the month-long excitement across the city from the series of events and activities that will take place on the opening day covering, entertainment, culture and the biggest carnival parade in the history of DSF.
Visitors have the opportunity to win half a million dirhams in prizes through programmes and competitions run by Sama Dubai TV and local radio stations.
Shoppers at the city’s leading shopping malls including The Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and the Dubai Festival City Mall can participate in Sama Dubai TV’s DSF Lucky Shopper where the presenters will randomly select a few people from the crowd and give away prizes and gifts to participants who provide the maximum number of correct answers to general questions about the Dubai Shopping Festival.
Celebrate the opening day of DSF at Al Seef Street where the biggest carnival parade in the history of DSF will provide a visual feast to the festival. Around 1,000 performers in funny, freak and fashionable attire, musicians, dancers, acrobats performing antics, gymnasts, clowns, stilt walkers, inflatable and animal characters will be performing at this exciting carnival.
The opening day of DSF will culminate with several showers of mesmerizing fireworks that will be set off starting 7 pm at various locations in the Dubai Creek. The Dubai night sky will illuminate to an impressive array of pyrotechnics display, as families get transfixed to the massive galaxy of colors, designs and roaring sounds that usher in the celebrations of the 19th edition of the festival that offers an unmatchable shopping experience to all its visitors.
Arabic musicians Fares Karam and Hatem Al Iraqee will hold musical concerts at the Burj Park from 9 pm to 11 pm. Both the singers will take centre-stage as they make the first evening of the DSF come alive with their sparkling performances.
The excitement surrounding the opening day of the DSF will be elevated to new heights with the life-changing Infiniti Mega Raffle. The name of the first lucky winner of the mega raffle will be announced at Global Village between 10 pm and 11 pm, who will take home two Infiniti luxury cars QX60 and G25 plus a whopping cash prize of Dh100,000 ($27,200).
