Egypt to export petrochemicals to 15 African and European nations
For the first time, Egypt produced petrochemical products from Egyptian raw materials (natural gases) and will export polyethylene to 15 European and African markets, according to Al-Ahram daily.
Egypt is in the process of increasing the efficiency and profitability of its petroleum sector through various projects, reported Egyptian Petroleum Minister, Sameh Fahmi, who is an engineer.
The Egyptian minister added, that the Sidi Krier Petrochemical Company would soon implement the final stages of a project to produce diethylene and polyethylene.
These substances will be utilized in Egypt, as well as exported to foreign countries. In addition, large quantities of ethylene will be produced for industrial use.
The minister said that the investment costs of the project would reach approximately $2 billion Egyptian pounds ($506.4 million). –(MENA Report)
