Etisalat Academy becomes Huawei regional training partner
Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (“Huawei”), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications networks for carriers around the world, has announced that it has appointed Etisalat Academy, a division of Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat), as its regional training agency for the Gulf and Middle East.
The three-year agreement will see the Etisalat Academy instructors train regional engineers on next generation networking technologies offered by Huawei. “We gladly welcome Etisalat Academy as our regional business partner,” said Wang Jiading, vice president, Huawei Technologies, Middle East and North Africa region. “Next generation networking technology is critical to development of all countries across the region, and we believe that the number of skilled and trained communications engineers is the single most important determining factor in the development of the technology application.
“Introducing new technology is vital for telecom operators to beat competition and changes in technology will influence the mobile communications value chain, creating a new trend of multimedia convergence. As mobile devices become more sophisticated, the user experience is changing. Operators are evolving their services to deliver entertainment and information to mobile phone screens and new technology will allow operators to introduce services that could play a major part in customer choice,” he added.
