General Motors records 50 percent sales increase
The Dubai-based General Motors Middle East company, announced that its vehicle sales in the region have climbed remarkably during the year 2000. According to a report in the Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, the sales of GM vehicles in the Middle East region in general and in the Gulf region in particular, grew by 50 percent last year compared with the results of the previous year.
General Motors sold 42,000 cars in the region during 2000, marking its record sales figure in seven years. Company sources attributed this growth to the success of the company’s new car models, as well as its incentives program. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
