Hilton International appoints director of International Sales
Hotel chain Hilton International has appointed Avsar Koc as their new director of international sales, to promote outbound travel from the Gulf markets including United Arab Emirates (UAE), Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman.
Based in Hilton's new regional headquarters at the Dubai Internet City, Koc said, “The Gulf is a growing feeder market to the Hilton family of hotels worldwide and my focus will be to enhance specialized travel solutions for business and leisure travelers from the region.”
With the market trend shifting and Gulf travelers looking more towards destinations in Europe and Asia-Pacific, various properties such as the Hilton Maldives Resort & Spa, Rangali Island and the Hilton Bangkok in addition to other Hilton hotels in France, Germany, UK and Australia, stand poised to meet the increased occupancy levels, according to a company press release.
Avsar will also promote regional destinations within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) . The new Jeddah Hilton is geared up to receive the rising number of Haj and Umrah travellers, while the soon to open Hilton Kuwait Hotel & Resort will be a flagship property for Hilton offering some business and leisure facilities.
Hilton International currently operates 28 hotels in the Middle East—15 hotels in Egypt, eight hotels in the UAE, three in Saudi Arabia and one each in Bahrain and Oman. The new Hilton Kuwait Resort will open in June, offering business and leisure facilities.
Hilton Hotels Corporation and Hilton International, a subsidiary of Hilton Group plc, have a worldwide alliance to market the Hilton hotel brand, collectively offering more than 2,000 hotels in more than 50 countries worldwide. — (menareport.com)
