International Jewelry Dubai to be held April 2003
International Jewelry Dubai (IJD) will feature a new Fine Jewelry section in 2003. The exhibition, which will be back at the Dubai International Exhibition Center in the newly refurbished Halls 1, 2 and 3, will be held April 22-26, 2003. International Jewelry Dubai, which is supported by the Diamond High Council is one of the Dubai World Trade Center's most successful combined trade/consumer events.
“We are delighted to have identified a new service that will highlight some of the most exclusive jewelers participating in the exhibition. In 2002 we initiated a special ‘Equipment and Tools' section, responding to trader needs and it was a tremendous success. We are confident that by exploring new ways to segment various market divisions, we will be better able to meet the needs of both exhibitors and visitors,” said Jackie Reed, international project manager for International Jewelry Dubai, adding that she anticipates the 2003 edition of IJD will also be complemented by exclusive seminar opportunities for trade professionals.
The previous edition of IJD attracted the participation of 235 exhibitors representing 26 countries including Bahrain, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Korea, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lithuania, Malaysia, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine, United States and Vietnam. It marked the first time participants from Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Monaco participated in the event and featured eight national pavilions.
Reed said she is anticipating the 2003 edition will feature pavilions representing Thailand, Hong Kong, Belgium, Central Europe (Germany/Austria/Switzerland), Italy and India. In addition, she is expecting a strong Turkish presence as the Government of Turkey has confirmed its support. Korean exhibitors report they too are anticipating government support to ensure a strong presence in 2003.
International Jewelry Dubai features a broad range of products including cut and uncut gemstones; gold, platinum and silver jewelry; precious and semi-precious gem sets; precious and semi-precious stones; bullion; antique jewelry; a wide range of watches; clocks, silverware and an exclusive section dedicated to packaging, display materials and tools and machinery for jewelry manufacturers.
International Jewelry Dubai (IJD) is supported by the Diamond High Council (Antwerp) and is held annually. The 2003 edition marks the exhibition's ninth season. In 2002, more than 230 exhibitors representing 26 countries participated, including eight national pavilions. It attracted 3,167 trade visitors—71 percent from the Middle East and 29 percent worldwide). Total visitor attendance was 13,558. — (menareport.com)
