Leaked iPhone 5

The iPhone 4S was similarly smuggled out of its manufacturing facility in 2010 and images and videos leaked on the internet. This is not the first time an iPhone 5 rendering has been leaked. Earlier this month tech site Gizmodo too had come out with several other renderings of the new phone.

As rumored, the new phone clearly displays a smaller 19 pin dock. Built in a white frame, the unit, if it is the next generation iPhone 5, will give Apple watchers a look at the phone about two months before the actual launch. It has been widely expected that Apple could release the new phone either in September or October. A Chinese business daily has reported that there could be a delay in the release date of the new due to a shortage of chips.

According to wantchinatimes.com high-end chips used in the device are in short supply. The chips in question are the 28-nanometer fabrication, an advanced production technology which Apple uses for its new device but known only to a few companies. Meanwhile prices of Apple’s used iPhone 4S is dropping fast as owners are selling off their used handsets in anticipation of the new model. A used 16GB model is being put up on sale with a drop in price by almost Dh1,000.

While a new iPhone 4S is priced at Dh2,599 for 16GB handset and Dh2,999 for a 32GB model in the online Apple store, some retail stores have already started to drop prices. A brand new iPhone 4S is selling on Dubizzle for Dh2,100 to Dh2,300. Apple CEO has already said that the drop in sales of iPhne 4 is a result of hype about the iPhone5.

There is a spelling mistake on the last sentence, saying "...the drop in sales of iPhne 4 is a..." The word 'iPhone' is spelled wrong.
