Iraq General Company for Vegetable Oil Production signs new agreements

The General Company for Vegetable Oil Production signed a contract with the Iraqi Ministry of Trade for purchasing local products, reported the Iraqi newspaper, <i>al-Furat</i> on March 28, 2005. The company signed an agreement for purchasing 7,500 tons of STP, which is used in the production of detergents, in order to provide it to the local market during the current year. It was also agreed to produce 100 tons of liquid detergent on the behalf of one of the local merchants, and contracts were signed with private sector companies for production of 6,000 tons of laurel soap and 20,000 tons of cleaning powder. The company had already received 5,195 tons of palm oil and start in producing oils.
