Iraqi minister calls for wise water management policies
The Iraqi water resources minister, Dr. Abedel Jamal Rashid, urged the relevant bodies to follow suitable policies and guidelines and good management in order to benefit from the water resources in Iraq in the best way. The minister said in a statement at the International Day of Water, that was held earlier this week, that the transparency in managing water resources should be increased.
The minister added, according to <i>Alfourat</i> newspaper, that a just distribution of regional water resources can help a lot in realizing agricultural policies and rural development in Turkey, Iran, Syria and Iraq.
