Japanese firm to design Spanish gas plant in Egypt
Two months after Union Fenosa Gas signed a natural gas supply deal with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation, the Spanish company awarded the contract to design its gas liquefaction plant in Egypt to the Japanese group Chiyoda, reported Cinco Dias. The new plant will cost about $1 billion to build.
Union Fenosa Gas, which is part of the Spanish electricity utility group Union Electrica Fenosa, has said that its investment in Egypt is meant to strengthen its position as an operator in the natural gas business. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
