Changing jobs is undoubtedly one of the most stressful decisions you make during the course of your career, especially if you have been an integrated part of an organization and its culture for a long time. You do not only leave a position or an office, you leave daily routines, coworkers and a familiar environment behind, as well.
Since the decision of changing your career can affect your future plans, Hala Abdelaziz, Executive Secretary and active member on the Bayt.com Specialties platform, posted a question to gather opinions from specialists on when is the right time to consider changing jobs. Huda Khamees explained that once she feels that there is no creativity in what she is doing and that there is nothing new she can offer the company, she will know that it's time for her to switch jobs.
In complement, Anthony Waweru believes that a person should consider changing their job when they can no longer feel the joy in what they're doing anymore, while Sanjeev Kumar believes that "if you're not learning something at your current job, you might be wasting an opportunity somewhere else." On the other hand, Khaled Ibrahim suggested that because people have different reasons for leaving a job, the perfect time to consider taking that decision will consequently vary from one person to another.
Whether you are seeking a different career path, looking for a better opportunity or simply cannot get along with your boss or coworkers, the right time to quit your job depends entirely on you. And whenever you feel it is time to switch jobs, you should not let the security of your current position keep you from exploring new opportunities.
