Joint oil pump factory to be established in Suez Zone
A new manufacturing plant to produce petroleum pumps is under construction in Egypt’s Suez Zone, according to Al-Ahram daily.
Sameh Fahmy, Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum, revealed that a joint project between the country’s Ministries of Petroleum, Industry and Military, along with various Arab nations had initiated the project.
Fahmy noted that the nation’s petroleum industry presently requires over 50 thousand such pumps. Hence, a factory to produce them locally is important to the industry.
Furthermore, he maintained that export of the plant’s output is also planned. He stated that some 20 to 50 percent of the oil pumps produced by the future plant are to be exported to foreign markets. –(MENA Report)
