Jordanian fruit, vegetable exports headed to Gulf markets
The Arabian Gulf states absorbed 84 percent of all Jordanian fruit and vegetable exports in 2000, according to the London-based Al-Sharq Al-Awsat daily. Such exports totaled 396,000 tons last year.
Of this quantity, the UAE absorbed 116,000 tons, equivalent to 29.6 percent all Jordanian fruit and vegetable exports in 2000. During that year Jordan has imported a total of 47,000 tons of fruit and vegetables. — (MENA Report)
