Kuwait’s Americana sales hit record high
Sales of the Kuwaiti Food Industries Company, Americana, hit a record high in 2000, totaling nearly half a billion dollars. According to Al-Ddustour daily, Americana’s net income in 2000 hit $41 million, also its highest ever value.
Americana presently operates 510 restaurants for 12 food chains in nine Arab countries, including American and European brand names such as Kentucky Fried Chicken, Hardee’s, Heinz, Baskin & Robbins, and TGI. Fridays.
In the year 2000 alone, the company opened 47 new restaurants, or an average of one restaurant every eight days. Americana currently employs approximately 14,000 workers.
Based in Kuwait, Americana recently observed 38 years of operation. Currently, it is considered one of the Middle East’s largest restaurant, food processing, distribution and food retail companies. ― (MENA Report)
