Dubai, United Arab Emirates: October 6, 2010: As Microsoft continues to invest in innovation big bets such as cloud services; this year’s Gitex Technology Week is a key platform to showcase both its consumer and enterprise offerings based on the cloud. Microsoft will have a two-fold presence at Gitex where it will be exhibiting its consumer offerings in the main concourse area as the Platinum partner of Dubai Internet City, and in the Business Solutions hall 7 where its enterprise solutions will be showcased by over 20 of its regional partners. Microsoft will also be present at Gitex Shopper through its partners.  


Visitors to the Microsoft stand in the concourse area will have the opportunity to see and experience the latest consumer offerings from its highly anticipated entertainment and gaming system - Kinect for Xbox 360 - and Windows Phone 7, to some of the latest and devices and prototypes that are powered by the Microsoft Windows platform. Microsoft will also showcase its new browser Internet Explorer 9 and its online cloud-based applications such as Windows Live Essentials 2011 and Xbox Live. In addition, Microsoft will create a living room of the future to showcase emerging and future trends for a digital lifestyle and how software creates a connected experience across the PC, Phone and TV.


Some of the enterprise offerings being previewed will include the next generation of unified communications software; optimized desktop; business productivity; optimized datacenter; ERP/CRM application software and developer tools. In addition, Microsoft will also have demonstrations on public and private cloud; an enterprise PC showcase and live technology seminars that will be delivered by Microsoft partners and experts.

Microsoft Gulf is playing a leading role at Gitex Technology Week, with the presence of senior executives who will deliver a series of keynotes throughout the exhibition. The line-up of speakers includes:

  • Ali Faramawy, Vice President, Microsoft International & President, and Microsoft MEA: will deliver a Global Leaders' Summit Keynote on October 17 on the Microsoft cloud story and the impact of the cloud in the region.

  • Steven Guggenheimer, Corporate Vice President, OEM Division, Microsoft: will deliver an exclusive Microsoft keynote session on October 18 to showcase the Microsoft platform and the rich experiences it delivers across a range of devices such as phones, PCs, televisions, servers and Microsoft’s cloud offering.


    Microsoft is also participating in the Cloud Confex session on October 19 where it will present its perspective on how Cloud Computing is transforming the industry and changing the way software is consumed in addition to giving insights into how Microsoft is delivering the applications, tools and infrastructure that will define the next era of computing.
