Moroccan cereal imports increase by 49 percent
Morocco imported 240,000 tons of cereals last month, a 49 percent increase compared with the corresponding period from the previous year, stated the country’s Inter-Professional Cereals Office (ONCL).
According to the ONCL, the North African state’s cereal reserves amount to 970,000 tons, an increase of 21 percent compared with figures from 2001.
Morocco’s top cereal suppliers are the United States with a 17 percent market share and France with a 15 percent share. Canada, Germany and the Ukraine all hold a 13 percent share of the imported cereal market. — (menareport.com)
