Morocco Royal Airlines purchases four Airbuses
The Moroccan Royal Airlines Corporation finalized a contract to purchase four commercial Airbus planes during the recent International Aviation Exhibition held in Le Broge, reports Al-Hayat daily.
Under the contract, valued at €400 million ($342 million), delivery of the Airbus-321 crafts will begin in the second half of 2003. The deal was concluded recently by Morocco's King Mohammed and Noel Forgeard, Airbus’s president after three months of negotiations.
The airline currently has a 32-plane fleet, most of which are American manufactured Boeings. Last November, the company announced the purchase of 22 Boeing planes at the cost of $1.1 billion as part of its modernization plan for the next decade.
