Number of Korean companies in Jafza has doubled in last 2 years

Jafza and Techno Park participate in the UAE/Korea Business Investment Opportunities Exhibition

The Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza) and Techno Park -- two subsidiaries of Economic Zones World -- and the Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing, Dubai, will participate, for the first time in the UAE/Korea Business Investment Opportunities Exhibition to be held in Seoul from the 7th to the 9th of June 2007 as a single entity represnting two differend prospects of Dubai’s investment potential.

The participation is aimed at promoting investment opportunities in Dubai in general and in Jafza and Techno Park in particular, besides showcasing the great tourism potential of the Emirate.

Ibrahim Al Janahi, Senior Vice President, Commercial Sales, Jafza said: “This step comes as our close follow up of the strong momentum of economic cooperation between the two countries triggered by the recent South Korea visit of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

“This event, in which Jafza is participating for the first time, is fully in line with Dubai’s strategic plan for the year 2007. We are trying to secure larger share of global investments into the Middle East by showcasing our strategic strengths and positioning in this fastest growing region in the world. We are  planning to meet officials of some of the largest Korean companies interested in investing in Jafza, to establish a strong foothold in the GCC and the Middle East markets.

“ The number of Korean companies in Jafza has doubled in the last two years from 20 at the end of 2004 to 45 at the end of 2006. We expect this pace of growth to substantially accelerate in the coming years,” Mr. Janahi added.
Beside Mr. Janahi, the delegation will also include Hamad Al Hashemi, Managing Director, Techno Park
