Jordan's government is set to increase the price of electricity by 18 per cent over a two-year period, as the country seeks to deal with its growing budget deficit.

Foreign ministers of Egypt and Cyprus have said the prospect of cooperating to exploit offshore hydrocarbons reservoirs is vast. However a “dispute between Egypt and Israel might ensue”, suggest expert forecasts.
