Oman targets Asian investors
The Omani Center for Investment Promotion and Exports Development (OCIPED) is currently planning promotional seminars, which will be held on November 6th and 9th in Taiwan and Singapore.
The main purpose of these events is to provide Omani companies with the opportunity to discuss investment opportunities and joint ventures with Asian companies. The target sectors are tourism, telecommunication and agriculture.
The government is actively participating in the effort to attract foreign capital and diversify the Sultanate’s economy. The Omani economy is largely based on petroleum, as this sector accounts for 99 percent of the national exports. The remaining market share is based on agriculture and fishing. — (Albawaba-MEBG)
