Omantel has signed a partnership agreement with a Swedish telecommunications company to launch the IP-VSAT technology which is an international digital system meant to facilitate contacts among the coming generation of clients outside the Sultanate.
According to ONA, the agreement was signed by Eng. Mohammed bin Ali al-Wahaibi, Omantel Executive President and Hassan Parvizi, Executive President of the Swedish MCA Company.
The new system which adopts the internet protocol solution provides a number of services with reasonable prices for small and big companies and establishments. These services include voice and video, database, accessing the internet and e-mail and commercial services information. The services are supported by a network operation centres based in the Sultanate and Sweden to support clients throughout the day.
According to Al-Wahaibi, the new service is appropriate for contacts among geographically separated companies and establishments. He noted that the service is offered at a speed of 360 megabyte per second. He added the cost of this service is feasible for clients such as the oil and gas, LNG, banking and financial institutions, mega and contracting and engineering companies.
Parvizi expressed delight to work with Omantel which he said is a well-reputed company in the Sultanate. Its noteworthy that the MCA Company which is based in Stockholm is one of the prestigious telecommunications companies which offer state of the art services and products to individuals and establishments around the world.
