Orascom Construction to build Nigerian cement plant
Egypt’s Orascom Construction Industries (OCI)’wholly owned subsidiary Cementech has been awarded two contracts valued at $ 54.8 million by the Dangote Group for the establishment of two cement plants in Nigeria, stated a press release.
The two new factories will form the basis of Dangote’s new Obajan Cement Plant located in the state of Kogi between the port of Lagos and the nation’s capital Abuja. The deal also includes the fabrication and supply of structural steel and non-process equipment.
OCI focuses on construction, building materials manufacturing and infrastructure development. The Construction Group provides engineering, procurement and construction services on industrial, commercial, infrastructure and railway projects.
In February, OCI was contracted to build Libya’s eighth cement factory. The $160 million cement clinker production line is expected to produce 4,200 tons of cement per day (tpd). — (menareport.com)
